Marco Vdm | E+ | Getty ImagesThe wage gap costs women in the U.S. about $1.6 trillion a year, a new report finds. Women earned 78 cents for every dollar that men made in 2022, according to National Partnership for Women and Families. Forty-two percent of the wage gap is the result of occupational segregation, which was exacerbated by the pandemic, the U.S. Department of Labor has found. To that point, half of U.S. adults said women being treated differently by employers contributes to the pay gap, the Pew Research Center found. That pay scale worsens for each major racial or ethnic group in the country, with white female workers paid 74 cents to the dollar; Black female workers, 66 cents; and Latina female workers, 52 cents.

"We've got this window of low taxes here," said certified financial planner Dan Galli, owner at Daniel J. Galli & Associates in Norwell, Massachusetts. Former President Donald Trump's signature tax overhaul temporarily shifted individual income tax brackets by reducing the rates and applicable income levels. "It's a fascinating time to look at how you want to blend or sequence your income in retirement," Galli added. If you're 59½ or older, you can start taking withdrawals from pre-tax retirement plans without incurring a penalty. While you'll still owe regular income taxes, those rates may be lower through 2025, he said.

The Family and Medical Insurance Leave Act, or FAMILY Act, was reintroduced by lawmakers including Gillibrand and Rep. Rosa DeLauro, D-Conn., with the goal of creating the first paid national family and medical leave program. "It is a reasonable, pragmatic way to get to paid family leave," Duckworth, who is a co-sponsor of the bill, told CNBC.com in an interview. The Education Support Professionals Family Leave Act would provide education support workers such as school bus drivers with unpaid leave under FMLA.
Using BNPL to spread out purchases over time has a a few advantages over paying by credit card. To help my efforts, I removed all my credit card information from being auto-saved on my favorite e-commerce sites. In just the past three months, this helped me lower my credit card bills by 25%, since I had to think through each item in my cart before getting up and manually entering my credit card information. Note that credit card lenders may use many different variations of credit score models when considering your application.
